Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Jiangyin People's Hospital in China explored the use of the albumin-to-alkaline phosphatase ratio (AAPR) as a prognostic indicator in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD). The study found that a low AAPR was strongly associated with worse overall survival (OS) in PD patients. The AAPR was shown to be an independent marker predicting reduced OS both before and after propensity score matching (PSM). The study suggests that the AAPR has potential as an independent prognostic biomarker in patients undergoing PD. [Extracted from the article]
