Abstract
- A study conducted at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Pondicherry, India, explored the role of T-cells and macrophages in the prognosis of lymphomas. The researchers collected data from 83 patients with nodal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and analyzed the association of these immune cells with clinicopathological factors, treatment response, and survival. The study found that a higher percentage of CD3 positive T-cells and CD8 positive cytotoxic T-cells were associated with a better response to treatment. Additionally, a higher number of macrophages in the tumor microenvironment correlated with better overall survival. This research provides insights into potential prognostic markers for DLBCL.
