Abstract

A recent study from Central South University in Changsha, China, explores the role of B lymphocytes in non-infectious uveitis, an autoimmune disease that can lead to severe visual impairment. While CD4+T cells have traditionally been thought to drive the immune-mediated imbalance in uveitis, recent research suggests that B cells also play a significant role in the disease process. Therapies targeting B cells, such as rituximab, have shown promise in treating non-infectious uveitis that is unresponsive to conventional treatments. This research aims to further investigate the mechanisms of B cells in uveitis and develop more effective prevention and treatment strategies. [Extracted from the article]
