Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Heilongjiang, People's Republic of China, focused on the role of a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) called ZFAS1 in medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC). The researchers found that ZFAS1 promotes the invasion of MTC by upregulating the expression of a protein called EPAS1 through the miR-214-3p/UCHL1 axis. Silencing ZFAS1 inhibited MTC cell proliferation and invasion, and reduced EPAS1 protein levels. The study suggests that targeting ZFAS1 could be a potential therapeutic strategy for MTC.
