Abstract

Tourism to Switzerland is on the rise, with overnight stays from Canada increasing by 13.1% compared to 2019. The summer months continue to be the most popular for travel, accounting for almost half of the overnight stays. In May, Swiss International Air Lines will launch direct service from Toronto to Zurich, offering five flights a week. The new service is expected to be successful, with load factors from the Canadian market being strong. Winter tourism is also growing, particularly to destinations like Zermatt and St. Moritz. Additionally, there will be daily service between Vancouver and Zurich, as well as flights from Calgary. The event celebrating the new flight service also highlighted the increased sales of the Swiss Travel Pass from Canada, indicating a growing interest in train travel in Switzerland.
