Abstract

A new report from researchers at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) explores the impact of different laser scan and argon flow strategies on the mechanical response of Body Centered Cubic lattices in 3D printing. The study found that a quadrant strategy with four lasers operating against the argon flow had the highest mechanical responses, while a single-laser strategy had the lowest. The research suggests that multi-laser additive manufacturing systems may have advantages over single-laser systems in terms of part performance. The study provides valuable insights for optimizing component performance in 3D printing. [Extracted from the article]
