Abstract
- The article explores the need for mediation and formal eviction guidelines between landlords and rent-stabilized tenants in New York City. It discusses the challenges faced by both landlords and tenants in eviction cases, as well as the impact of the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act on tenant evictions. The article suggests the use of mediation as a solution to resolve eviction disputes in a mutually beneficial manner. It also highlights the benefits of new construction in alleviating the housing shortage in the city and proposes the implementation of a mediation program to promote fair and efficient conflict resolution.
