Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the University of Pavia in Italy examined the differences between autoantibody-negative rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and autoantibody-positive RA, as well as psoriatic arthritis (PsA). The researchers investigated the synovial and serum immunophenotype indicative of B lymphocyte involvement in these conditions. They found that the degree of B lymphocyte infiltration and the frequency of lympho-myeloid synovitis were lower in autoantibody-negative RA compared to autoantibody-positive RA, but similar to polyarticular PsA. The study suggests that understanding the pathobiological differences between these conditions could lead to personalized treatment strategies. [Extracted from the article]
