A study conducted at Hubei Polytechnic University in Huangshi, China, investigated the use of phloroglucinol in ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy (UHLL) and its effects on inflammatory response and oxidative stress. The study included 90 patients with ureteral calculi who underwent UHLL. The patients were divided into control and observation groups, with the observation group receiving phloroglucinol before and after the procedure. The use of phloroglucinol resulted in shorter operation and postoperative hematuria times, higher treatment efficacy, lower pain levels, and reduced complications.
