Abstract
- A study conducted by the University of Veterinary Medicine Foundation in Hannover, Germany, examined the effects of supplementing foals with a Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation product (SCFP) on diarrhea occurrence and the response to vaccination. The study found that the supplementation did not significantly affect the duration and severity of diarrhea. However, it did have an impact on the immune response to vaccination, with foals receiving the SCFP showing increased numbers of leukocyte fractions after vaccination compared to those fed a placebo. These findings suggest that early life supplementation with SCFP may influence the early immune response to initial vaccination. [Extracted from the article]
