Abstract

A recent study conducted at Singapore General Hospital compared the use of high-power holmium laser (HPHL) and thulium fiber laser (TFL) for endoscopic enucleation of the prostate in patients with glands larger than 80 ml. The study found that both lasers were equally effective in terms of 30-day complications. However, TFL with the en-bloc technique had a shorter operative time, leading to improved short- and medium-term functional outcomes. The study provides valuable insights for surgeons performing endoscopic enucleation of the prostate for benign prostate hyperplasia. [Extracted from the article]
