Abstract
- Researchers from The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, United Kingdom, have conducted a study on the impact of metallic femoral head prostheses on prostate cancer imaging using an MR Linac. The study found that distortion caused by these implants did not pose a significant obstacle for pelvic radiotherapy on an MR Linac. The research supports the feasibility of treating patients with metallic hip prostheses on an MR Linac, and further investigation into the impact on treatment plan quality is warranted. This information is published in the British Journal of Radiology and can be accessed online. [Extracted from the article]
