Abstract
- A recent report from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln discusses the progress made in developing gene-deleted live-attenuated African swine fever virus vaccines. African Swine Fever (ASF) is a highly lethal viral disease in swine, causing significant economic losses and impacting global food security. Live-attenuated virus vaccines that remove virulence genes have shown promise in terms of safety and efficacy. This article summarizes the recent advancements in generating and characterizing these gene-deleted vaccine candidates. The research was supported by the United States Department of Agriculture and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Agricultural Research Division. [Extracted from the article]
