Abstract
- A recent study conducted by Fudan University in Shanghai, China, has explored a potential therapeutic strategy for acute colitis. The researchers developed an orally administrable probiotic inulin gel containing living Bacillus subtilis engineered with antioxidative single atomic nanocatalysts (SAM NCs). These nanocatalysts demonstrated the ability to eliminate oxidative stress in vitro and in vivo. The probiotic gelation therapeutic strategy showed promise in targeting and colonizing the colon region, providing anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, and gut microbiome modulation effects. This research contributes to the exploration and potential clinical transformation of gastrointestinal diseases. [Extracted from the article]
