Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of the Valley of Itajai in Brazil explores the use of machine learning algorithms to identify abnormal activities in the daily lives of elderly individuals. The study focuses on Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and uses the Novelty Detection technique to create a model that defines the baseline behavior of an elderly person. The research concludes that the Local Outlier Factor algorithm achieved the best results, with a precision and F1-Score of 96%. This study provides valuable insights into the potential of mathematics and machine learning in promoting healthy and inclusive aging. [Extracted from the article]
