Abstract
- Recology Sonoma Marin, a business unit of Recology based in San Francisco, has opened a new material recovery facility (MRF) in Santa Rosa, California. The MRF aims to achieve an 85% recovery rate for mixed recyclables from 13 communities in Sonoma and Marin counties, an improvement from the previous facility's 75% rate. The facility, which cost $35 million and took 10 months to build, has a projected capacity of up to 400 tons per day and utilizes both manual and automated equipment for sorting recyclables. Recology partnered with recycling equipment manufacturer Machinex for the design and installation of the system. [Extracted from the article]
