Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at Capital Medical University in Beijing, China, explored the potential role of cystathionine-gamma-lyase (CSE) as a prognosis biomarker in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a common malignant tumor with poor prognosis. The study analyzed CSE expression in HCC tissues and found lower levels compared to adjacent normal tissues. Decreased CSE expression was associated with advanced clinicopathological features and poor outcomes in HCC patients. In vitro experiments suggested that CSE may trigger HCC cell apoptosis. The findings suggest that CSE could serve as a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for HCC. [Extracted from the article]
