Abstract
- A recent report discusses research conducted at Policlinico Umberto I Hospital in Rome, Italy, on penile cancer. The study aimed to investigate the role of the preoperative albumin-to-alkaline phosphatase ratio (AAPR) in predicting lymph node involvement in penile cancer patients undergoing inguinal lymph node dissection. The study included 42 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the penis, and the researchers found that AAPR may be a potentially valuable prognostic marker for lymph node involvement in penile cancer. The findings suggest that AAPR could be used as an independent predictor of pathologic node-positive disease in patients who have undergone surgery for penile cancer. [Extracted from the article]
