Abstract
- The Western Ghats are home to one of the most dominant rock outcrops: the vertical basaltic cliffs. Although seemingly barren, this unique landform shelters a variety of species adapted to thrive in its challenging and nutrient-poor environment. This article examines the remarkable traits and adaptations of plant species living on cliffs, the microhabitats they inhabit, and the plant-animal interactions that take place.
