Abstract

A recent study conducted at Denver Health in Colorado examined the use of directional atherectomy (DA) and drug-coated balloon (DCB) in the treatment of peripheral artery disease (PAD) in a safety-net population. The study found that the combination of DA and DCB resulted in low complication rates and good short-intermediate outcomes for patients. The majority of patients in the study presented with critical limb threatening ischemia (CLTI) and had previously undergone lower-extremity revascularization (LER). This research provides valuable insights into the treatment of PAD in underserved populations. [Extracted from the article]
