Abstract

Researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston have presented new data on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in neuroimaging of brain tumors. AI applications in this field include tumor classification and segmentation, preoperative planning, radiogenomics, prognostication, and posttreatment surveillance. While there has been progress in AI and neuro-oncologic imaging, widespread clinical adoption is still limited due to the lack of prospective studies demonstrating efficacy and logistical challenges in implementation. Future progress will depend on prospective studies measuring outcomes relevant to clinical practice. [Extracted from the article]
