Abstract

This article discusses various issues related to the cognitive psychology and mental handicaps. The problems described here in the article by the author are relevant to the overall question of the relationship between the experimental findings of cognitive psychology and to the concept of intelligence. They are relevant to the role which cognitive psychology may hope to play in relation to mental handicap. Psychology, properly enough, has seen its role as predominantly anchored to education, a manipulable environmental force.
