Abstract

A recent report from the Jinling Institute of Technology in Nanjing, China discusses the development of coatings for artificial joints. The researchers successfully created a poly (acrylic acid-co-acrylamide)/polyethyleneimine (P(AA-co-AAm)/PEI) coating on a titanium alloy surface using UV irradiation and thermal treatment. The resulting coatings exhibited low friction and wear, making them promising for use in biomedical applications. This research provides a strategy for developing lubricating coatings in the field of biomedicine. [Extracted from the article]
