Abstract

A recent report from Habib Bourguiba Hospital in Sfax, Tunisia discusses the case of a 50-year-old man who developed a traumatic pseudoaneurysm in the proximal part of the facial artery following a car crash. The patient presented with a progressively growing submandibular mass, and imaging confirmed the presence of a nodular lesion connected to the facial artery. The patient underwent surgery to remove the pseudoaneurysm, with ligation of the proximal and distal ends of the facial artery. This case is significant because pseudoaneurysms of the facial artery typically arise from the distal part of the vessel, and only a few cases involving the proximal part have been described in the literature.
