Abstract

Carnivorous plants are different from other photosynthesizing plants because these plants have evolved to develop different mechanisms to capture animal prey for nutrition and survival. It is intriguing to look at some of the different trap mechanisms, the molecular mechanism behind the functioning of the traps, and the unusual digestion process of these carnivorous plants, which has developed as a trade-off in compensation to survive.
