Abstract

Henry Ford Health, a Detroit health system, has filed a lawsuit against the federal government after the work visas of two Canadian employees were denied entry at the Detroit border and later revoked. The health system alleges that the government misinterpreted the rules governing TN work visas under the US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement. The issue revolves around whether radiologic technologists, the job category of the employees, qualify for TN visas. Henry Ford Health is taking the case to the top of the U.S. immigration infrastructure, naming several government officials as defendants. The outcome of the case could have implications for other employees who cross the U.S.-Canadian border for work. [Extracted from the article]
