Abstract
- The article discusses the clinical assessment of patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) through routine laboratory tests. The study aimed to identify differences in standard parameters between OSA patients and a control group. Results showed higher mean red blood cell volume and mean corpuscular hemoglobin in OSA patients, but no significant differences in lipid profile, C-reactive protein, fasting glucose, and NT-proBNP levels. The study suggests that increased red blood cell volume in OSA patients may be due to undiagnosed OSA. Further research is needed to explore the impact of OSA on routine laboratory tests.
