Abstract
- A recent report from the University of Twente in Enschede, Netherlands, discusses the development of in-situ forming hydrogels using a combination of hyaluronic acid (HA) and star-shaped poly(ethylene glycol) (8-arm PEG). The hydrogels were prepared through enzymatic crosslinking and showed high gel content and storage moduli. The study also demonstrated the biocompatibility of the hydrogels with human mesenchymal stem cells and their potential for tissue regeneration applications. By modulating the ratio of PEG/HA, injectable hydrogels with different properties can be prepared. [Extracted from the article]
