Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Islamic Azad University in Rasht, Iran, has investigated the use of ZnO nanoparticles and thymol in inhibiting the expression of biofilm and efflux pump genes in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The researchers synthesized ZnO nanoparticles functionalized by Thiosemicarbazone nanoparticles and found that the combination of ZnO@Glu-TSC and thymol had a stronger inhibitory effect on P. aeruginosa than either agent alone. The study suggests that ZnO@Glu-TSC NPs and thymol could be a potential antibacterial treatment for P. aeruginosa strains. Further research is needed to explore the effectiveness of this combination.
