Abstract
- This article explores the optimization of microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) technology for the extraction of turmeric oil. The study used response surface methodology (RSM) to analyze the effects of process variables on the oil yield and quality. The results indicated that hexane was a more effective solvent compared to petroleum ether, and the optimal conditions for extraction were a microwave power of 300 watts and an extraction time of 20 minutes. The study concludes that MAE is a safe, efficient, and economically feasible method for turmeric oil extraction, with potential applications in various industries and medical science.
