Abstract
- This article examines the themes of prison aesthetics and female body spatiality in two novels, "A House Without Windows" by Nadia Hashimi and "The Miraculous True History of Nomi Ali" by Uzma Aslam Khan. It explores the historical context of these novels, including the experiences of Afghan and Indian prisoners. The article analyzes how the prison spaces in the novels impact the mental outlook and subjectivity of the female prisoners, highlighting the rejuvenating experiences in one novel and the subjugation and torture in the other. It also discusses the concepts of prison aesthetics, prisonization, and heterotopia in relation to the novels. Overall, the article argues that these novels raise awareness about the prison system and the experiences of female prisoners. [Extracted from the article]
