Abstract

A recent study conducted in New Delhi, India, compared the outcomes of different treatments for pigmented contact dermatitis (PCD), a form of allergic contact dermatitis characterized by dermal hyperpigmentation. The study found that azathioprine (AZA) therapy, in combination with allergen avoidance, resulted in the greatest reduction in hyperpigmentation and improvement in quality of life compared to leflunomide therapy or allergen avoidance alone. The study suggests that AZA may be a promising treatment option for PCD. However, it is important to actively manage this disease to achieve optimal results. [Extracted from the article]
