Abstract

A recent study conducted at University Hospital in Girona, Spain focused on esophageal lichen planus (ELP), an inflammatory disorder that affects the skin, mucous membranes, and cutaneous appendages. The study presented the case of a 70-year-old woman with a history of erosive lichen planus in various areas of her body, who was eventually diagnosed with esophageal lichen planus. The patient's condition was refractory and progressed to the development of intraepithelial squamous neoplasia. The researchers reviewed the existing literature on this condition.
