Abstract

A recent report discusses the development and characterization of platelet membrane-derived nanodiscs (PLT-NDs) as platelet decoys for biological neutralization. These nanodiscs effectively bind with anti-platelet autoantibodies, preventing them from interacting with platelets. In mouse models, PLT-NDs successfully neutralize pathological anti-platelet antibodies and bacterial virulence factors, leading to significant survival benefits. The study highlights the potential of PLT-NDs as a promising platelet mimicry for neutralizing various biological agents that target platelets. [Extracted from the article]
