Abstract

A research report from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon discusses the frequency of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in men with urethritis. The study aimed to identify the microorganisms associated with STIs in men attending urology consultations and explore their clinical correlations. The research included 200 patients, with findings revealing the presence of C. trachomatis, U. urealyticum, and M. genitalium. The study concludes that this is the most extensive molecular epidemiological study of STIs in men in Mexico and that similar frequencies of these microorganisms were detected globally.
