Abstract
- The article discusses the need for a change in attitude towards risk aversion in government departments and the need for a British Standard to encourage the use of basalt reinforcement. The author also questions the current design standards and suggests designing for resilience and adaptability in the face of a low carbon future. Additionally, the article highlights the lack of accessibility in the design of the new Bradford Station, specifically for wheelchair users. The author suggests seeking advice from the Institution of Civil Engineers for guidance on wheelchair access. [Extracted from the article]
