Abstract

The paper presents the study and analysis with finite elements of the hook of a hoist, as well as the load capacity of the hook varying the cross-sections. The selected sections were constant over time and then the sizes of two different sections were changed. The hoist hook is modelled using SOLIDWORKS software. Von Mises stress analyses were performed. To validate the stress distribution model for its correctness, he used the theory of curved beams. The obtained results were compared with those determined by analytical calculation and it was found that the deviations are at least 5%. The finite element analysis method can be used for different material types and different loadings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
