Abstract

A recent report from Randolph College discusses the increasing prevalence of online teaching in K-12 education, particularly in rural and economically distressed communities. The study focuses on the experiences of women teachers who navigate between online, face-to-face, and hybrid teaching environments. Using a feminist poststructuralist perspective, the research highlights the complex relationship between teachers' bodies and their perceptions of being a good virtual teacher. The study suggests that the current Community of Inquiry framework could benefit from incorporating the concept of embodiment to better understand the physical and intellectual labor involved in virtual classrooms.
