Abstract
- A recent study conducted by the Ministry of Education aimed to identify biomarkers associated with noise and drug-induced hearing loss (HL) using transcriptomics and proteomics. The researchers integrated public transcriptomic data with data from a guinea pig model of HL induced by gentamicin and noise. Through differential analysis and enrichment analysis, they identified two core biomarkers of HL, RSAD2 and matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP3), which are involved in the development of the inner ear and signaling pathways. Proteomic analysis further validated the differential expression of MMP3. This study provides valuable insights into the pathogenic mechanism of HL and paves the way for further laboratory verification of key biomarkers. [Extracted from the article]
