Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Rosario compared the efficacy of Botulinum Toxin (BT) type B versus type A and placebo in patients with cervical dystonia (CD). The study found that BT type B was effective in improving TWSTRS scores at 4 weeks compared to placebo. However, there was no significant difference in efficacy between BT type B and type A. Adverse events such as dry mouth and dysphagia were more frequent in the BT type B group. The researchers concluded that further studies are needed to evaluate therapeutic options for patients resistant to BT type A. [Extracted from the article]
