Abstract
- The Boston Tea Party, which occurred 250 years ago, played a significant role in sparking the war for America's freedom. In protest against the taxes imposed by Great Britain, colonists, including Joshua Wyeth, sneaked into Boston Harbor and destroyed over 92,000 pounds of tea by smashing tea chests and throwing them into the water. This act of defiance led to the passing of harsh laws by Great Britain, which further fueled the colonists' fight for independence. Ultimately, the colonists defeated Great Britain and went on to form the United States. [Extracted from the article]
