Abstract
- This article discusses the discrepancies in landmark positioning in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) across various midsagittal planes (MSPs) in patients with skeletal Class III facial asymmetry. The author emphasizes the value of CBCT in diagnosing asymmetry and addresses several questions related to the study. The authors recommend using the menton deviation measured from the initial posteroanterior cephalogram as the criterion for dividing groups. They also discuss the different types of asymmetry and suggest that the choice of MSP may affect the evaluation of maxillary asymmetry. The authors recommend considering soft tissue symmetry and the actual head posture when choosing an MSP. They also highlight the importance of recording natural head posture and reaching an agreement with the oral surgeon. [Extracted from the article]
