Abstract

A recent study conducted on yellow fever vaccination status found that there is a significant misclassification of vaccination status, both at the individual and country level. The study used a hierarchical Bayesian analysis and estimated the sensitivity and specificity of vaccination status. The median estimates for sensitivity and specificity across all countries were 0.69 and 0.70, respectively. The study suggests that reported vaccination coverage may be significantly underestimated in 10 out of 20 countries and significantly overestimated in 5 out of 20. However, it is important to note that this preprint has not yet undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
