Abstract

A recent report from New York University NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital discusses a case of neurofibromatosis type 2 in a 27-year-old woman. The woman developed a painless lesion on her left upper eyelid, which was later identified as a plexiform neurofibroma. This type of tumor is rare and occurs in 5%-15% of patients with neurofibromatosis 1. The case described in the report is unique as it represents a bona fide example of a plexiform neurofibroma on the eyelid. Further research is needed to better understand cutaneous abnormalities in neurofibromatosis 2. [Extracted from the article]
