Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at the Homi Bhabha National Institute in Maharashtra, India, explored the use of the free thoracodorsal artery perforator (TDAP) flap for head and neck cancer reconstruction. The study included 26 patients who underwent the procedure between January 2015 and December 2018. The researchers found that the TDAP flap provided favorable outcomes in terms of functional and aesthetic results, with minimal donor site morbidity. The flap was also found to have advantages such as a close color match to the face and minimal hairiness. The study concluded that the TDAP flap can be a useful tool for selected cases in achieving ideal outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
