Researchers at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in Iran have developed a new stimulus-responsive organic/inorganic supramolecular nanostructure (SRN) for targeted combination cancer therapy. The SRNs were designed to deliver a combination of chemotherapy drugs, gene therapy, and magnetic hyperthermia therapy to multidrug-resistant cancer cells. The nanostructure was able to effectively release the drugs and siRNA inside cancer cells, resulting in synergistic cytotoxic effects.
