Abstract

This article focuses on artist Vito Latrofa. It has always been Latrofa's dream to cook, to own a small restaurant. Latrofa is from Noicattaro in Southern Italy. When Latrofa and three of his siblings arrived in Canada to work in the textile factories in October 1969, they had never heard of snow. Latrofa never adjusted to the colder weather so in 1978, after six years of marriage, he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia to be in a more temperate climate. In Vancouver he owned his own salon and the last three years of his career worked in the movie industry. Five years ago he decided to buy a small house in Mexico and make it into a restaurant as well as his home.
