Abstract

The article reports that while the two biggest towel mills in China are strengthening their U.S. market presence due to the lifting of quota restrictions, their top executives are cautiously expanding their businesses in the U.S. in light of concerns that it may impose limits on their towel exports. Anthony Lau, president and chief executive officer of Sunvim Hometextiles Ltd., said that they are taking a conservative approach. He also said that the company will compete on quality rather than price. Similarly, Loftex Industries has a long-term growth plan for the U.S. but is taking a wait-and-see approach.
