Abstract
- The article discusses a study which examines the combined effect of awake prone positioning (PP) and noninvasive ventilation (NIV) on respiratory effort and oxygenation in COVID-19 subjects affected by acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF). Topics covered include the characteristics of the study subjects, the association of combined PP and NIV with reduced inspiratory effort and improved oxygenation, and the strengths and limitations of the study.
