Abstract

The importance of leadership in the success of hospitality organizations is often underrated. This is especially true for certain sectors of the hospitality industry such as food service, as the majority of these managers must supervise employees at the lower end of the pay scale. Employees have to be made to feel important, especially in those positions that are at the lower end of the pay scale. If managers do not give concern to the humanistic approach to operations they will be faced with a vast amount of turnover and absenteeism, which in the long run can be extremely costly to the success of the organization.
